I’ve come up with an idea for a company that will actually work.
- It’s in the logistics space and will require some data science muscle.
- It tackles an ugly, ugly problem– one that most people in the space find depressing– but one that is very likely to be solvable.
- It can be run as a non-profit or for-profit. The core problem will never be a billion-dollar/”unicorn” money-maker, but public success at it (a problem that has been traditionally viewed as unsolvable, and at which a public success would generate considerable good will) would open the opportunity for later for-profit consulting in the data science/ML space.
- The initial stages are not capital intensive, and even partial success would improve many lives.
If anyone has contacts to the sorts of people who have the power to make things actually happen in this world, please reach out. The idea is solid and I’d love to try a strategy for solving this problem, but I don’t have long to decide on my next move.
